FAQs

Can my hands predict my future?

The odds are not in your favor! The information in hands used in predictive palmistry is said to be less than 50% accurate. Who wants to “know the future” based on those odds?

Life Purpose Hand Analysis is based on the ancient art of palmistry and the modern science of fingerprint analysis. Your lines, hand shape and fingers identify your motivations, talents and the patterns and habits of your personality. Your fingerprints reveal your Life Purpose or highest potential and Life Lesson, what you are here to work on. This system is not based on my psychic abilities to predict the future, but rather on a scientifically validated system that can be consistently applied from hand to hand.

Your hands cannot reliably tell you how long you will live, who you will marry, or how many children you will have. Everything in the hands is viewed in present time.

Do my hands change?

Yes. They can change sometimes dramatically, sometimes subtlety over time. Your palm shape, lines, color and the bends in your fingers reflect the inner patterns of your personality, your motivations and your behaviors. When you change, they can change.

Your fingerprints, however, never change. That is why the fingerprint pattern, unique to you and formed five months before birth, is sometimes called your blueprint for life, your core psychology or your soul’s agenda.

Is there a difference between the right hand and the left hand?

The right hand is your public, “out in the world”, career-oriented hand. It's what you present to your guests when you invite them to dinner – clean, organized, fresh flowers, odor-free (at least for some of us!). Your left hand is more about how you relate to your friends, family, and self (what your closets and drawers might look like when you stuffed all the mess inside just before the guests arrived!) Most of us like to (or need to) keep a few secrets – to show the world a together person. Some individuals have very different right and left hands; some are exactly alike.

What if I am left-handed? On rare occasions, the right and left hand will be switched in a reading. But there are obvious markers in the hands that help me determine this.

I had a short reading from you at an event. Is there more?

I often say that your hands contain a 600-page novel. A short reading is just the jacket cover. Ask any hand analyst and they will tell you that they learn something new about themselves every day through their hands and the hands of their clients. You can go wide or deep (to use a football term). Wide means, you can experience the vast amount of information in your palm shape, color, finger sections, lines and most of all the fingerprint patterns. You can dabble in the “You” that is revealed in your hands for as long as you like…you have 600 pages to browse through!

What about going Deep? Most people would agree that we are all on a journey…not always mud puddle free. And you might also agree that you have unique talents and a purpose to fulfill. Growing more conscious about this journey and what you want to bring to the world is what I mean about going deep. Just take your Life Lesson for example. This shows up in your fingerprints. This is what you are here to work on so that your Life Purpose, also in your fingerprints, can unfold. Exploring your Life Lesson makes many of us go unconscious; it takes time to emerge from the cave of denial, resistance or the urge to take a psychic nap when the going gets tough.

A Life Reading or a series of readings can help you crystallize your Life Purpose and learn more about the resistance points you face in getting there. See Services.

I don’t live in your area, can I do a reading with you at a distance?

Absolutely! I am set up to do recorded phone readings, so I can read for any one in the world. You will need to contact me to get instructions on how to provide me with a copy of your hands and fingerprints. You then make an appointment, send me your prints along with a check or credit card information. Contact Janet

Do you do groups? I think I want to have a group of my friends over and I’d like you to be the hand reader.

Yes. Consider what you want. Would you like to hire me to do a Hand Reading Circle (HRC), the focus of the gathering, or as part of the entertainment at a party? The purpose, pricing and set-up are different. See services for more information.

Can I learn to read hands?

Hand Analysis is a teachable system. Richard Unger, the founder of the International Institute of Hand Analysis (IIHA), www.handanalysis.net, has developed a powerful teaching curriculum based on over a 40 years of research and practice. I am a Master Hand Analyst and faculty member of the IIHA and teach and assist in courses offered in San Francisco Bay Area and in Vermont.

There are rules that apply to everything in the hands: fingerprints, lines, finger sections, skin color and texture and hand shape. Learning the enormous amount of data in a hand is the first step in the learning process, like learning the “rules” of painting before you develop your unique style. As you begin to practice what you have learned, you develop the art of hand reading – how to weave a story and apply your intuition.

I want to learn more. Do you recommend any books?
                 LifePrints             Destiny
I recommend two: Lifeprints: Deciphering your Life Purpose through Your Finger Prints, published in late 2007 by Richard Unger and Destiny at Your Fingertips, published in 2008 by Ronelle Coburn. Both explore the rich territory of life purpose. Read a free chapter from Lifeprints by Richard Unger.

There are 100’s of books written based ancient palmistry traditions. Richard Unger has extensively studied these traditions and researched the patterns and meaning of finger prints. His system, the one I use, is based on the best of the non-predictive art of ancient palmistry and the modern science of fingerprint analysis. I consider Richard Unger the best contemporary source on hand analysis.
